Bridges :: 52 Weeks of Photos

I was psyched for this week’s theme in my 52 Project group since it gave me an excuse to take Samantha and visit one of my favorite places in town, the UC Davis Arboretum. There’s a long creek that runs right through the middle of the place, so there’s no shortage of bridges there! The last few times I’ve visited the arboretum the weather’s been really nice and I’ve seen a lot of other local photographers taking advantage of the good light and backdrops, but so far I’ve been the only one photographing pets, not people! 🙂

If you want to check out some more fun and fantastic takes on the same theme, check out fellow photographer and 52 Project group member Tiffany Haulton’s blog! Tiffany’s got a good eye, so I know you’re in for a treat. 🙂 And of course feel free to keep following the links until you wind up right back here. Thanks for stopping by — I’ll see you next week!

These photos are gorgeous! I especially love the B & W.

I love both these photos but the top one is just pure perfection!

Steph Skardal - February 3, 2012 - 9:18 am

Lovely composition in both of them. And it doesn’t hurt to have a very cute dog.

Ann Kearns - February 3, 2012 - 9:23 am

I love them both, but my favourite is actually the second – I love the colours.

Peggy/DogBreedz.net - February 3, 2012 - 9:26 am

BEAUTIFUL!!! Like Ann, I am drawn to the second one, but for me it’s because of the perspective and DOF. Lovely! It makes me want to go find more bridges to photograph : )-

I love the color in the last image. Gorgeous. You have such a great model 🙂

Kelly - February 3, 2012 - 11:24 am

These are really beautiful. I love the depth of field on the black and white and the colors on the second photo.

Blue - February 3, 2012 - 12:06 pm

These are both beautiful! Love the DOF in both of them.

Anthony – Im such a big fan of your work! The colors are always warm and creamy and the bokeh are an absolute dream! Amazing job this week. I cant decide which shot I like better. (Also your Samantha is incredibly beautiful!) Awesome stuff. I dig.

Wow, I’m looking so intently at the dog that I barely notice the bridge. I especially love the shot in black and white. What a beautiful location.

Karen - February 3, 2012 - 4:49 pm

What a gorgeous dog! I love both images!

tiffany - February 3, 2012 - 5:00 pm

The first one is my favorite…love it black & white!

Sharon Stokes - February 3, 2012 - 8:53 pm

I LOVE both images, I can’t decide which I like better so I’m not going to 🙂 Absolutely beautiful work.

I’m in love with both images. The tonality of the b&w and the color palette of the second, I love how her coat matches the wood of the bridge. Corbin and Samantha should have a play date 😉
